Kinfolk Magazine, Volume 2 is out! $18, 144 pages, offset printed and perfect bound. A compendium of thoughts about winter and small gatherings with contributions by over 60 artists from around the globe. I have a story about wool socks. Get yours here.
The printed edition of Kinfolk Magazine is now available for presale. It’s 148 pages, 8 1/2” x 11”, perfect bound and downright gorgeous. I’m really excited to have had the opportunity to contribute — my portion includes a photo/written essay, 5 additional photos throughout the magazine and the cover photo.
I reached out to the magazine’s editor and founder, Nathan Williams (of Hear Black), a month ago, after feeling like the publication’s mantra, “A guide for small gatherings,” resonated strongly with me. We agreed to collaborate over email. He asked for ideas, I pitched a few his way, and it was a go. 2 days later, I concept-ed, styled and shot one of the story ideas and sent the images and words his way.
But, the team there truly turned what I submitted (along with those of 39 other contributors) into something very special. The magazine is a pleasure to hold, to look at, and to read. And it you’re someone who cares, as I do: it also arrives in impeccable and incredible packaging.
So, without further ado: go get ‘er. (The magazine will also have an online version featuring short films, playlists, and more).
Happy Birthday Terry Gross, Dave Davies, and Marty Moss-Coane!!!!
