From the series Transcience by Lex Pott. Made through an accelerated oxidation process of applying sulfur to mirrors. The silver in the mirror reacts to the sulfur, creating different color tones in geometric shapes.
I really love this work, as well as Pott’s projects Fragments of Nature and True Colour Shelves, which you can see on his website.
Excited to discover the work of Monir Farmanfarmaian, who makes work with broken glasses and mirrors. (via Paris Review)
Another gorgeous poster by Claire Nereim.
The other day I discovered an amazingly intricate woodblock print in a shop near my house and was instantly intrigued. It turns out the artist is Keiko Minami, who is Japanese-born but has been living and working in Paris since 1954. She is 100 years old.
Happy Birthday to the ever-kinetic, always colorful Alexander Calder.
